January 2026Bamboo that teaches
The materials lab tour alone was worth the trip. Architecture as living system. Zero plastic isn’t a slogan here—it’s design.
Living bamboo architecture, closed-loop hospitality
Designed by a collective of Balinese architects and Dutch engineers, Bali Bamboo Atelier is a masterclass in bio-based construction. Structures grow stronger with age; wastewater becomes garden fertility; kitchen oil becomes biodiesel for staff vehicles. Guests can tour the materials lab and meet bamboo growers. Plastic has no role on site—and the metrics prove it.
